i died last night

I was unaware of my death last night

It came quick, slashing through hope

and chewing the sticky fear attached to

palpitations running, running, jumping

Once again darkness laughed maniacally

Caressing my hair as i clenched the pillow

Oh, death why must you surpass the little strength left?

does the reaper comb my hair with glee? Or with

The convergence of our morosities kissing each

other with bells of midnight

Ding, dong, ding, dong, ding,

dong, ding, dong, ding, dong,

ding, dong

Bells taken forward to the increased heartbeat

of death, death surmounting all of good natured suspects

Oh, what suspects are awarded to one who has denied

Such pleasures, walking through life with haste and impatient values?

I was unaware of my death last night

As i was unaware of the misfortunes of personal causal factors

Choked by laughter of the reaper, may you cease thy infernal cackles

And allow me to rest in peace, in solitude, in silence

In silence, i have passed and i rest in your arms now.

am I a poet?

or is it an avocation

to fill the empty spaces of the soul

Is it not a soulful activity

where we dig and plunder every

emotion buried inside

Am I a follower to anguish?

Or is the pain holding me with

chains to the ground.

Am i a lover?

or is it the hollow disguise

of love which fills the soul

with plastic each day

am i a living being?

or is it my skeleton pretending

to smile with the humans

people touch my shoulder and

say you’re not alone

am i alone

or is the isolation fictitious like they scold

am i a failure!

or is it part of a journey to success?

i may not have answers but

one settles permanently

poetry is a coping mechanism…

but STOP the poem…!

Am I a poet?

why is it that we part?

Why is it that we part?

is it within our souls to create a new start

to some form of happiness or satisfaction

are we attempting to climb endlessly

your rosy cheeks created life within me

sending fits of laughter and felicity in every room

morosity now overcomes that once lit complexion

is there an element to blame, to cuss at?

tell me old friend, why is it that we part?

the mystery behind your sulky state

is a rope slowly being tied around my neck

your eyes are made of metal, impossible for me

to reach inside and view the true state of the soul

tell me friend, why are you a stranger? Is it the lack of

warmth in the space between us? I was a car, requiring external

sources to keep my engine on

and you were the isolated civilian on the park bench

swallowing your miseries in silence as i prepared to leave

eyes met the last time and it shattered the road between us

tell me friend, why is it that you don’t look at me anymore?

is it the growing desire to be isolated, yet i see others join your side

I sit myself down on the bench and meet your eyes once again

But when i saw your eyes, they were black holes

A smile resided on your lips and continued to stay in place

But tell me friend, tell me why you are blind now? Tell me friend,

Why do the others have your eyes covered in blood and triumph?

Conflict is finalized and weakness cloaks an attempt to try again with us

Oh, friend i know why we have part.

oh, she sits ever so elegantly!

poise and grace with such a face

shall we appreciate her sunlight? or

the streams of tears which escape my heart

from viewing such an alluring sight?

ah, sight is not the only appeal!

though my outward love is often reserved

A shower of love is what she truly deserves

oh, such power you grant me

with your illuminant smile and reassuring presence

oh, lustrous and pure soul that you have

is veiled by looming shadows

let us fight the shadows and unveil

your exquisite nature to the world

let us turn every nothing into somethings just by the

tinge of our shared presence

let us frolic in contentment of being each other’s

let us lock pinkies, binding a dedication of loyalty

let us inhale the oxygen of the world together

and be one in midst of adversity

let me guide you to a path of such qualities and rarity

let me be your comrade, forever and always.

as if there’s something there

Oh, what is it that I feel?

The faint desire lurking within?

Or the emptiness being filled

With gold stars and confusion

what is there? Is it anything at all?

Endless nights under water

attempting to find air

but am I drowning at all?

my soul is being chewed up

reduced to small, scattered pieces

yet my heart desperately pains

and her eyes make it impossible to tell

whether anything is here

and my soul laughs at me and says

as if there’s something there.
